About Melissa Kreimer

Melissa Kreimer has known she wanted to be a criminal defense attorney since she was twelve years old. Long before law school, she understood that the rights guaranteed by the Constitution only have meaning if they protect everyone, including those accused of serious crimes. That belief has guided her career ever since.

As a former public defender, Melissa has devoted her practice to representing people facing some of the most serious criminal charges in Georgia. She regularly handles felony cases, including sexual offense allegations, violent crimes, juvenile matters, and cases involving complex mental health issues. She represents clients throughout Cobb County, Cherokee County, and the Metro Atlanta area.

Before becoming an attorney, Melissa worked as a social worker in Washington, D.C., helping families navigate difficult circumstances. She also worked with an HIV/AIDS nonprofit in Atlanta. Those experiences shaped the way she practices law today. They taught her the importance of listening without judgment, communicating honestly, and recognizing that every client brings a unique story and set of challenges into the courtroom.

Philosophy

Melissa believes that every person deserves a vigorous defense and to be treated with dignity and respect. She understands that criminal charges often represent the most frightening and uncertain time in a person's life. Whether a client is maintaining their innocence, facing the consequences of a mistake, or struggling with mental illness or addiction, they deserve an attorney who will stand beside them, protect their constitutional rights, and ensure the government is held to its burden of proving every element of its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Clients appreciate Melissa's straightforward approach. She believes effective advocacy is built on preparation, credibility, sound judgment, and a thorough understanding of the law. Sometimes the best result comes through thoughtful negotiation. Other times it requires filing motions, challenging the government's evidence, or taking a case to trial. Every decision is made with one goal in mind: protecting her client's rights and pursuing the best possible outcome.

Melissa is committed to keeping her clients informed throughout every stage of their case. She takes the time to answer questions, explain the legal process, and develop strategies tailored to each client's circumstances. She believes that trust is earned through honesty, preparation, and unwavering dedication to the people she represents.

Keke - the official mascot of Kreimer Law

Outside the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on Alabama football, and attempting to train her spirited puppy, Keke, better known as Nugget. Nugget proudly serves as the unofficial mascot of Kreimer Law and occasionally requires legal representation after stealing socks or ignoring basic commands.
